We left the campsite mid morning with full tank of water and headed for an Aire at Praia da Rocha. We had to come through a couple of narrow streets as we got into the town but nothing too bad. We have spoken to someone who followed his tomtom and came through the centre of town and almost got stuck.
The motorhome parking is located next to the marina just a short walk from the beach.
There is a charge of 1€ a night to stay here and water is available, 100ltrs for 2€. The parking area is huge, as you enter the Aire the first section is tarmac with marked bays but behind this is a huge area of hard sand and gravel. If you are careful where you park you wouldn’t get stuck. The loo point is next to the green fence by the marina just where the tarmac ends.
The aire is very busy, people having BBQs with table and chairs out. Throughout the day various vans drive around selling fish, bread and fruit.
While we were at the aire there was a mobile motorhome repair shop which comes to the aire every 10 days but you can contact him on the number below and he will come out. He also sells spares and accessories. Tecno Camper Tele: (00351) 917 224 110.

Aire Praia da Rocha
We were at Praia d Roche in February this year and heard that the Marina Parking area for Motorhomes had been closed down after complaints from local Hotels etc, your post in March this year seems to contradict this so what is the situation ?
ReplyDeleteIt was open in November when I was last here, but I'm staying in Praia da Rocha this week; my apartment overlooks the motorhome parking area and I can confirm it IS closed. It's really strange seeing it empty.
