Day 103 Sunday 22.05.2011
Location: Losnich Stellplatz, Mosel Valley, Germany
Long / Lat: N 49º58.536’ E 007º02.567’
This morning Paul managed to grab the man who runs the stellplatz and get him to unlock the electricity box and unhook us, we have seen people ready to leave but waiting for ages for him as he is never in a hurry.
We had no problem pulling off the grass but think we timed it just right. As we drove out of the stelplatz the heavens opened and it poured with rain. If we had been five minutes later we probably would have been stuck.
1st stop Kinheim Stellplatz, Mosel Valley – Co-ordinates N 48º58.302' E 7º03.448'
We drove about 12km to the stellplatz at Kinhein, this is a smaller stelplatz with parking for about 50 vans with nice views of the river and valley. There is one bollard with electric points in the middle of the parking area but most of the vans parked there didn’t seem to be plugged in.

2nd stop Losnich Stellplatz, Mosel Valley – Co-ordinates N 49º58.536’ E7º02.567’
As it was still early and still pouring with rain we decided to drive on a few km’s to the Losnich stellplatz. We are going to stop here for the night.
Shortly after we parked up it stopped raining, the sky has cleared and the sun is back. We are parked on grass next to the river, lovely views of the river and the vines on the opposite bank.
When we got here there were loads of the rather stupid but delightful ducks wandering around the stellplatz (they will eat out of your hand but I’m not keen on that because they flap their wings a lot) we also had saw a swan with six tiny cygnets just in front of the van.
There is a service point, fresh water tap and electric hook up, no ticket machine so we expect someone to call later to collect our money. There is also free Wi-Fi here and we have managed to update the blog.
We both really love the Mosel, there are so many beautiful places to stop in a motorhome, its actually rather difficult to decide where to go next. The roads are excellent and the stellplatze are so well sign posted that you don’t really need the Bordatlas to find them. They seem much better value than some of the French Aires and most of them have electric hook up available for an extra 1.50€ for 2hrs.
Man came on Monday Morning for the pitch fees 7.50 with hookup, the baker also came around 8.30ish .
