Location: Brauneberg Stellplatz, Mosel Valley, Germany

This morning we woke to brilliant sunshine, we have a few stellplatze to check out today, it’s so difficult to decide where to go next.

While we were at the service point getting ready to leave (about 10.00am) a large group of very happy Germans on a wine tour armed with wine glasses wandered past us and gave the van a once over.

1^st stop – Urzig Stellplatz co-ordinates N 49º56.300’ E 7º00.480’

We liked this stellplatz, 7.50€ a night with electricity right next to the river, parking on grass with free water and a service point. Lovely view of the valley and a pretty little town behind. We had a little wander around the town but decided to check out a few more places as it was still early.

2^nd stop – Bernkstel-Kues-Wehlan co-ordinates N 49º56.300’ E 7º02.960’

We drove onto the stellplatz at Bernkstel-Kues-Wehlan, the site is down a steep access road with terraced bays divided by low wooden fences, the bays were a bit short for us. There was a service point, water and electricity.

3^rd stop – Graach bei Bernkastel-Kues co-ordinates N 49º56.007’ E 7º03.732’

As we drove into this stellplatz I thought we were on a cycle path, thankfully it was the access road. This stellplatz had a campsite feel to it, the bays are divided by low fences, there’s a toilet and shower block and Wi-Fi. You have to check in at the small office at the far end of the parking area.

It was all a bit regimented for us and we decided to try one more place and head back to Urzif if we didn’t like it.

The town is a few km from the stellplatz, it’s a large town with a dock where the tour boats call in so it you wanted to see the Mosel from the river this might be a good place to stop.

4^th stop - Brauneberg Stellplatz
We are going to stay the night here, the stellplatz is set back a bit from the river with a wine grove in front of the parking area, lovely views of the valley opposite, peaceful and quiet as we are not near to a road. It costs 7.00€ including electricity. There is a service point and no extra charge for water.

There is a small supermarket just behind the stellplatz.

We also stopped at a Netto Store co-ordinates N49 º 58.800’ E 7 º 01.851’ just before the Brauneberg Stellplatz .
