Day87 Friday 06.05.2011
Location:  Emmendingen Stellplatz, Germany
Long / Lat: N 48º07.134’ E 007º50.  70’
Today we headed into Germany, when we set off we were on the lookout for GPL before we cross the border as we’re not sure how easy it is to find in Germany.
We’re travelling on the A35 toll free motorway heading for Emmindingen not far from Freiburg. We filled up with GPL at an E’Leclerc service station between junction 17 and 18 on the A35, 0.76€ per ltr, co-ordinates N 48º13.902’ E 007º24.231’. The service station also had free Wi-Fi so we managed to park and update the blog while we were there.
We crossed the border into Germany at 11.05am, the Stellplatz was easy to find but the sat nav co-ordinates we entered into our tomtom from the Reise Mobil Bord Atlas did not take us directly there, our Snooper sat nav has the Stellplatz pre-loaded and it was spot on with the directions.
We are parked in a large car park opposite a sports complex, the parking bays are large and you can choose to park in the sun or under the trees if you want shade. It’s free to park here but you have to pay if you want water from the service point.
We walked around the town after lunch and found an Aldi supermarket about 1.5km from the stellplatz. It’s been so hot today 27º and much hotter inside the van.

The stellplatz was full by 8.00pm, there’s a train track nearby that was rather noisy during the night and we were woken up at dawn by the crows shouting to each other.

Before we left we paid 1€ for 50ltrs of water.
